The National Parents Council post primary (NPCpp) is the National association representing parents in the secondary school system. The NPCpp represent parents at hearings of both the Oireachtas and Department of Education and Skills meetings and other meetings with educational partners. (please note that ‘Parent’ in all instances includes both parents and guardians).
In anticipation of the start of a new school year in September, the NPCpp are trying to evaluate the real ANNUAL cost of education our young people at second level.
The ANNUAL costs being examined here, include both once off payments such as Voluntary contributions and ongoing costs, such as school trips/outings rather than just the ‘Back to School’ costs incurred in August/September of each year.
